What we focus on
When pain is felt in one area but the tension pattern may start elsewhere.
A trigger point is a practical description of a sensitive muscular area, not a diagnosis by itself. We look at the relationship between local tenderness, repeated load and movement rather than trying to ‘break a knot’ at any cost.
- local tender areas within muscles
- pressure that refers sensation into a nearby area
- recurring tension after repetitive activity
Massage does not replace diagnosis or treatment. Acute pain, fever, numbness, weakness or recent injury require medical assessment first.
After the session
Mild sensitivity after precise work can occur and should gradually settle. Strong or increasing pain is a reason to contact us or seek medical advice.
Common questions
Does trigger-point work have to hurt?
No. Sensitivity can occur, but pain does not prove effectiveness. Pressure can always be reduced.
Can every point be removed in one session?
That is not the goal. Improving comfort and movement matters more than finding the maximum number of tender points.
